Jeter&Homey on her First Day-Trouble Ahead |
That being said, she was a real charmer and had one of those personalities that said: I'm here, pick me! Her obedience abilities were very good so she must have had some training at some time early on. Always follows the basic commands, has never messed in the house or anything like that at all. Every once in a while, though, playtime get out of hand and maybe something gets broken, or moved or carried into another room. When she's called out on it, she lays down and squints her eyes closed really tight and looks as though she's very sorry but doesn't know how it happened. Why she ended up at the pound was probably because she was having puppies or something like that but we will never know. When we brought her home, she fit right in with the other dogs but really bonded with Homer. Within a few hours, the two of them were ripping it up in the yard and through the house and found new ways to get into trouble. Homer had never played with Bud or Snickers so it was a kind of rebirth of his spirit and his old, playfulness rose right to the top. So did his, as Gail calls it, "evilness". You can see in the picture on your left what I am talking about. Later on here, I will be placing a short movie of them performing their antics just as soon as I figure out how to make that happen. Typical of her breed, she's the kind of dog that loves to hang around you at whatever you are doing at the time. Just a few steps back and in the neighborhood. Taking a nap? She's right there. Mowing the lawn? She can help. Loves the car and going to the beach. Or--anything else as long as she's with either Homey or her owners. Of course, we have a special place dedicated to Labrador Retriever Rescue that we would like you to visit and support if possible. Please click on the graphic below to go there: |
